Pajala Municipality is the large (in area) small municipality located in the land of the northern lights and the midnight sun – Tornedalen, in eastern Norrbotten. At the Culture School, you will work together in a small team with drama teachers and music teachers. You will work freely and independently, but with the support of your colleagues. Teaching may take place in various locations within the municipality, so a B driver's license and access to your own car are desirable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As our dance teacher is on leave, we intend to explore new methods of teaching dance at the Culture School. Currently, our teaching takes place in long courses, where groups have lessons once a week. The age range is 6-19 years. To reach more students, we want to investigate new methods during the autumn term. Here, you and your experiences play a significant role. You will have the opportunity to tailor your work situation within the given framework. We have a long tradition of dance education at the Culture School, and interest among students is high.

QUALIFICATIONS

We would like you to have:

• Broad knowledge of various dance styles and genres such as jazz dance, contemporary dance, classical ballet, and hip hop.
• Experience in teaching dance to different ages and levels.
• Teaching certification with qualifications in dance or other education in dance and pedagogy.
• The ability to work independently as well as experience in choreographing and leading work for student performances.
